Volunteer Vacancies
(Updated on 28 November 2011)

Administration Assistance
We are looking for volunteers to help with general administration and book keeping. You will be working with the directors/management team who don't necessarily have the time to devote fully to these tasks.
(Ref: V008)

Production Assistants
This is an ideal opportunity to get to know how the radio station works and to get involved with a range of tasks ranging from administration, meeting & greeting guests and answering the phones to editing interviews and producing programme material. Training will be given (as appropriate).
(Ref: V006)

Sighted Assistance
Many of our members who present shows are visually impaired and need sighted assistance when working in the studio and office. There are vacancies for volunteers to assist with tasks including:

  • assistance in studio with play-out computer - monitoring what is on the screen and ensuring the presenter knows what is happening next,

  • meeting/greeting guests and visitors,
  • monitoring e-mails and tweets and communicating content with the presenter;
  • monitoring news and travel websites and communicating pertinent content to the presenter.

Training in working with vulnerable adults will be given plus any specialist training relevant to this opportunity.

Radio Presenters - Weekend daytime programmes.
We are looking for experienced radio presenters to join our talent pool for weekend programmes. In the first instance, please return the volunteer registration form together with a demo (maximum 5 minutes) to our address here and for the attention of the Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Radio Presenters/Producers - Specialist Music Shows.
We are looking for experienced radio presenters and/or producers with knowledge of specialist music to join our weekend production team. We are interested more in musical knowledge rather than broadcast skills (training will be given as appropriate). This role may suit those who don't necessarily want to present but have a love and knowledge of particular genres of music.

We are open to ideas for content so in the first instance, please complete and e-mail to us our programme specification form together with the volunteer registration form.

Contributors
We are looking to develop a pool of volunteers who can contribute to our programmes. Specifically there are the following opportunities:

  • Compiling and presenting travel/traffic bulletins;

  • Compiling and presenting local news bulletins;
  • Researching a range of local topics and setting up and/or conducting interviews;
  • Contributing to our sport output with updates and results of local football matches, covering other local sport and researching, setting up and conducting interviews. (An interest in sport essential!)
