Action for Blind People works in partnership with other organisations and blind and partially sighted people to enable them to transform their lives. With a local base in Epsom, they offer direct services in work, housing, leisure plus information and support. In October 2008, RNIB and Action for Blind People agreed in principle to combine some services across England. The new arrangement began in April 2009, resulting in Action for Blind People becoming an Associate Charity of RNIB.
For almost a century, St Dunstans has been giving invaluable physical and emotional support to blind and visually impaired ex-Service men and women. With the help of our unique expertise, experience and comprehensive range of services, we enable them to lead independent fulfilling lives.
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association's mission is to provide guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services that meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people.
The Royal London Society for the Blind's mission is to remove barriers to personal fulfilment and social inclusion by providing a range of education, training and employment services that meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people in contemporary society.
The RNIB provides information, support and advice for anyone with a serious sight problem. They not only provide braille, Talking Books and computer training, but imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges. The RNIB campaigns to change society's attitudes, actions and assumptions, so that people with sight problems can enjoy the same rights, freedoms and responsibilities as fully sighted people. They also fund pioneering research into preventing and treating eye disease and promote eye health by running public health awareness campaigns.
Surrey Association for Visual Impairment is here to help anyone in Surrey, whose eyesight has become a cause for concern, whether they are registered as having a visual impairment or not.
The Royal National College is a specialist residential College of further education and training, working with people from the age of 16, who are blind or partially sighted to promote their independence and potential. The RNC provides a range of full time programmes and short courses designed to prepare people for progression to Further Education, Higher Education and the world of work.
